(July 29, 2014) SILVERSTONE, England — Silverstone Auctions achieved its highest ever total sales value, more than £5million ($8.45 million), and secured some world record prices in its two day sale at the Silverstone Classic last week, where it achieved a sales rate of 85 percent.

1918 Cadillac added to Library of Congress Historic Vehicle Register

(July 23, 2014) DETROIT — A 1918 Cadillac Type 57 that earned its place in history during World War I received an honor of its own today. It is the fourth vehicle added to the Historic Vehicle Association’s new National Historic Vehicle Register and U.S. Department of the Interior Historic American Engineering Record. The HVA and Cadillac announced the listing — which will be archived in the Library of Congress — today.

(July 22, 2014) LONDON — Silverstone Auctions is offering the opportunity to own a unique and very special car, with connections to one of the most famous women of the 20th Century, in its sale at Salon Privé on Sept. 4. The car, a 1951 Cadillac Limousine, estimated at between £200,000 ($342,000) and £260,000 ($444,600), served as the official state limousine for Eva Peron, affectionately remembered as Evita, and her husband, the Argentine President Juan Peron.

Hemmings Daily Blog reported last week that the acres of automobiles belongs to Murray King of Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada. And King next month will put his 550-vehicle derelict car collection up for sale.

Two world records broken at motorcycle auction

Classic car owners receive historic pricing at vintage-themed gas

(July 12, 2014) TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — To celebrate National Collector Car Appreciation Day on July 11, Hagerty Classic Car Magazine transformed a gas station on Michigan's famous Woodward Avenue into a full service station from the past, complete with classic gas prices. Hagerty brought back the full-service station experience from America's golden automotive era, serving over 200 classic cars more than 1,400 gallons of gas.

Classic Peugeots gather for UK event
