BMW’s Pioneering electromobility innovations showcased at Petersen Museum

(September 22, 2024) The BMW Group’s pioneering electromobility innovation history is highlighted as part of a new exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Titled: “Alternating Currents: The Fall and Rise of Electric Vehicles,” the exhibit showcases the progression of electric vehicle developement from the late 1800s to modern concepts.

'Driven to Win: The Automobile in Competition' now at Petersen Museum

(September 10, 2024) LOS ANGELES  — The Petersen Automotive Museum’s newest exhibit, “Driven to Win: The Automobile in Competition,” is now open in the Charles Nearburg Family Gallery. The display showcases more than 100 years of motorsport history across a variety of competitive disciplines and highlights the technologies that propelled winning race cars across the finish line.
 


Petersen Automotive Museum speeds through summer with four new exhibits

(August 6, 2024) LOS ANGELES — The Petersen Automotive Museum launched four new exhibits this month, marking the largest simultaneous exhibit launch in its 30-year history. Each exhibit features a variety of automotive innovations, ranging from historical concept vehicles to rare hypercars to futuristic prototypes.

(July 16, 2024) DEARBORN, Mich. — The National Historic Vehicle Register's (NHVR) display in Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation will feature a new vehicle starting this month as part of The Henry Ford's partnership with the Hagerty Drivers Foundation. The 1911 Marmon Wasp is on display in the NHVR exhibition space now through November.

'Eyes on the Road: Art of the Automotive
Landscape' showcases artists, designers

(March 15, 2024) LOS ANGELES — The Petersen Automotive Museum will debut its newest exhibit, “Eyes on the Road: Art of the Automotive Landscape,” on March 30. The display, which explores the intersection of art, the motoring environment and automotive innovation, will feature a curated selection of concept cars and artwork from iconic artists, including Ed Ruscha, Andy Warhol and David Hockney.

(February 29, 2024) LOS ANGELES — The Petersen Automotive Museum will celebrate “Dream Cars” from the 1950s with its newest exhibit, “GM's Marvelous Motorama: Dream Cars From the Joe Bortz Collection,” which will open on March 16. The exhibit will feature six concept cars, together for the first time under one roof, originally displayed at GM Motorama shows in 1953, ‘54 and ‘55.

(February 10, 2024) The Petroliana Museum at the AAA Lakeside Storage, 4095 West Center St., in Provo, Utah, has offered visitors a walk through automotive history since 1983. Items like antique porcelain signs, an antique gas station, and close to 100 antique gas pumps from 1917 to the the late 50s are available for viewing.

(February 7, 2024) My dad was born on 80 acres outside of Bennet, Neb, in 1922, while my mom joined four older siblings near Ohiowa, Neb., in 1930. Both were as far removed from Paris, the Bugatti headquarters at Molsheim or Le Mans as was possible in that part of the 20th century. In the early ‘20s my dad’s family had a Model T and tractor, while in the ‘30s my mom’s folks had enough car to get their family to Idaho — and then back to Lincoln in that same Depression-riddled decade.

The hall offers visitors a glimpse of more than 60 historic and significant Honda and Acura automobiles, motorcycles, power equipment, race machines, engines and concept models, plus images, graphics and video presentations.
