Creative ad turns 1986 Cavalier into a 'performance' Z24

(April 16, 2015) One of the great advertising lines of the mid-80s has to be the one describing the new 1986 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 — "The quick little fox raised by wolves."

If that didn't raise your automotive excitement level 30 years ago then nothing would. Like a Corvette or a Camaro, the ad proclaimed. A Cavalier? Perhaps heard across the country after viewing the ad was the plea, "Honey, please, we need to head to the Chevy store and take a look."

Mecum Houston auction records $25.2 million in sales

Margaret Thatcher's 'battle bus' goes up for sale

(April 8, 2015) LONDON — An armored coach used by "Iron Lady" Margaret Thatcher as her campaign ‘battle bus’ has been put up for sale. The bomb-proof vehicle was built in 1983 and is believed to have been used for the former Prime Minister’s Northern Ireland tour.

Current owner Nick Mead is seeking £25,000 ($37,500) for the bus and plans to list it on Ebay, but is ideally hoping to find a buyer in the UK.

Beginning in 1936, Chevrolet sold the Chevrolet Canopy Pickup — a vehicle based on the popular FB-series half-ton pickup truck. Owners could upfit these vehicles with an optional canvas canopy top and side-drop curtains. During its first model year, Chevrolet saw truck registrations top 200,000 units for the first time in company history.
