Gilmore Museum to hold Pre-1942 Showcase and Swap Meet May 18

(April 29, 2019) HICKORY CORNERS, Mich. — The Gilmore Pre-1942 Showcase Car Show and Swap Meet on Saturday May 18, is not your “typical” car event. It’s actually authentic “time travel” back to the early days of motoring. Here you’ll see vehicles produced during the first 50 years of the automobile in motion as they drive around the Museum’s historic campus.

Petersen Museum to feature 10 groundbreaking race cars in exhibit

(January 25, 2019) LOS ANGELES — On Saturday, Feb. 23, the Petersen Automotive Museum will open its newest exhibit featuring 10 groundbreaking race cars, each with a unique story of triumph and victory, from the collection of Petersen Founding Chairman Bruce Meyer. Titled “Winning Numbers: The First, The Fastest, The Famous,” the exhibit will include exceptional competitors including Le Mans winners, land speed record setters, dragsters and road racers.

'Legends of Los Angeles' motorsports exhibit now open at Petersen

(November 20, 2018) LOS ANGELES — The Petersen Automotive Museum has opened its latest exhibit, “Legends of Los Angeles: Southern California Race Cars and Their Builders,” in the Charles Nearburg Family Gallery presented by Lucas Oil. The display features 12 race cars powered by engineering masterminds such as Ed “The Old Master” Pink and Fred Offenhauser and piloted by legends such as Don “The Snake” Prudhomme, Parnelli Jones, Bill Stroppe and Dan Gurney.

(February 10, 2018) PARIS — The Mullin Automotive Museum’s 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic was named The Peninsula Classics “Best of the Best” during a private dinner held at the Peninsula Paris on Feb. 8. In three years of the annual award, the Mullin Museum has won twice, claiming the inaugural title with its 1937 Talbot-Lago T150-C SS.

The cars represent the newest component of the museum’s “Citroën: The Man, The Marque, The Mystique” exhibit, which celebrates the quirky yet wildly innovative manufacturer.
