Jaguar restarts production of legendary D-type race car

(February 7, 2018) RYTON-on-DUNSMORE, UK — Jaguar Classic is re-starting production of the iconic Jaguar D-type race car in Coventry, 62 years after the last example was built in 1956. The first Jaguar D-type to be assembled by Jaguar Classic, an engineering prototype, will make its world debut at the Salon Retromobile show in Paris this week.

Winston Churchill's Daimler to be featured at London car show

(January 31, 2018) LONDON —  It is not often that a car can claim to have shaped history but the historical importance of a distinguished Daimler appearing on The Grand Avenue at London Classic Car Show, Feb. 15-18, should not be underestimated. It is not only the sole surviving pre-war DB18 Drophead Coupe but, more significantly, also the very car used by Winston Churchill for his political campaigns between 1944 and 1949.

(January 18, 2018) — Mecum Auctions’ annual collector-car auction in Kissimmee, Fla., has long held the title of “world’s largest,” and this year’s auction again raised the bar, taking the collector-car auction market to new heights. Demonstrating $10 million in growth over last year’s auction, Mecum Kissimmee 2018 saw 2,208 vehicles hammer sold from Jan. 5-14 for overall sales totals of $96.6 million — a number still on the rise as sales continue to be finalized in Mecum’s Bid Goes On department.
