The safest place on earth — in 1935

(August 10, 2015) Automobile manufacturers are equipping their vehicles with safety technology never even dreamed about a couple of decades ago making driving safer than at any time since the invention of motorized transportation.

Everything from forward collision warning, forward collision mitigation with automatic braking, road departure intervention, lane departure warning to backup cameras with cross traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control give the driver a cocoon of safety never considered in 1935.

But Chevrolet says in a six-minute advertising movie that being inside a 1935 Chevrolet is "the safest place on earth." You will be fascinated at what makes this car built 80 years so safe, according the Chevrolet.

And this video may contain the first scenes ever filmed of automated driving!

It's a very enjoyable drive back in time.
