Studebaker 'hawks' its cars in 1957 advertisement

(November 25, 2013) 'Craftsmanship makes the big difference' according to this 1957 Studebaker commercial, which gives prospective customers a chance to see much of the company's new lineup on the highway.

Studebaker brags about its "supercharged" power. Featured is the Golden Hawk with Packard's 4.7-liter supercharged V-8 making 275 horsepower. The big engine in such a light car gave the Golden Hawk an outstanding power-to-weight ratio. Unfortunately, the Golden Hawk was made only through the 1958 model year after sales had slipped to just 878.

Sedans mentioned in the commercial were the President, the Commander and the Champion.
