Mecum Las Vegas auction achieves $13 million in sales

1967 Shelby GT500 Fastback

(November 29, 2020) WALWORTH, Wis. — Mecum Auctions’ forward momentum achieved another thrust with a successful live classic and collector car auction event earlier this month in Las Vegas, as a group of 431 vehicles crossed the auction block. With bids pouring in from both live, on-site auction participants as well as those who opted to bid online from the comfort of home, the Mecum Las Vegas auction saw 316 vehicles hammer sold for a 73% sell-through rate and $13 million in overall sales.

Multiple vehicles in Las Vegas tied for coveted seats among the top sales list including the auction’s top two highest-hammering sellers: Shelby No. 00812, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Fastback and a 2006 Ford GT. The Shelby, boasting a matching-numbers dual-quad 428 Police Interceptor engine, and the 9,581-mile GT both demanded healthy, six-figure sales, coming in at $253,000 each.

The auction’s third and fourth top sellers tied one another as well with the 1967 Ferrari P4 Replica and 1968 Ford Mustang GT500CR Fastback each bringing in $225,500. Seats seven and eight saw yet another sale-price tie with a 1968 Shelby GT500 Convertible and a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Resto Mod each reaching $165,000.
