Jan. 2-14 collector car auction
poised to outpace previous years

(December 16, 2023) More than 4,000 consignments and nearly 40 collections are slated for auction at Mecum Kissimmee 2024, the 25th anniversary celebration of The World’s Largest Collector Car Auction, to take place this Jan. 2-14 at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Fla.

The car count for the anniversary of the world record-setting event is poised to outpace that of previous years, with the diverse selection including American muscle cars, ‘50s classics, Corvettes, exotics, trucks, Hot Rods, customs and more. Live coverage of the auction will be available for viewing on MotorTrendTV and MotorTrend+.

Headlining all consignments and hailing from The Apex Collection of 26 lots is a 1966 Ford GT40 Mkl Road Car that is one of 30 original GT40 Road Cars ever produced and currently shows just 13,442 original miles. The car was in the care of its previous owner for nearly 30 years, unseen by the public, and it now boasts a photo-documented comprehensive restoration performed by RUF Automobiles.

Another headlining vehicle from the collection is a 1987 Porsche 959 Komfort that is one of only 292 959s ever produced for the world and has a matching-numbers 2.85L twin-turbocharged flat 6-cylinder engine. A 1993 Jaguar XJ220, also from The Apex Collection, will grace the Kissimmee stage as well, and it’s one of just 282 examples made of Jaguar’s flagship supercar, today showing just 703 miles since new.

A trio of auction-headlining Ferraris is another highlight that was recently consigned to the Kissimmee 2024 lineup. The exceptional threesome includes a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTS/4 NART Spyder that is number nine of 10 built, a 1964 Ferrari 275 GTB/LM Competizione Speciale that is one of three built, and a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder that is the last Spyder SWB California constructed.

This trio of excellence joins an already robust list of Ferraris to be offered, including a low-mile 2004 Enzo that’s one of six in its color, a 1965 Ferrari 275 GTS that’s one of just 200 produced, a low-mile U.S.-spec 1992 F40  boasting several awards, and a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 S.E.F.A.C. that is the first of only six to leave the factory in black.

The Split Window Colorama Collection  includes one split-window Corvette in each of the seven colors available of the memorable one-year-only model of America’s Sports Car, while The Northwest Shelby Collection includes 20 Shelby models from as early as 1966, with variations such as the GT, GT350, GT500, Super Snake, GT500KR and one 2018 Ford F150 Super Snake Pickup.

The Thompson’s Muscle Car Collection of 36 lots includes a variety of Chevrolet, Dodge and Ford models, plus a pair of DeLoreans and other collector favorites.

A custom 2024 Can-Am Maverick R  that was driven to victory by Lucy Block and her daughter Lia at the 2023 Baja 1000 will also make its way to the Kissimmee stage, with proceeds from its sale to benefit The 43 Institute (43i) in memory of the late motorsports star Ken Block, husband of Lucy and father of Lia.
