(December 14, 2022) Mecum Auctions’ most recent classic and collector car auction was held in Kansas City, Mo., Dec. 1-3, and with 701 vehicles crossing the auction block in total, a 74% sell-through rate was achieved as overall sales reached $14.9 million.
Seven of the top 10 highest-dollar sales in Kansas City were nearly new rides with low miles and high style. The list was led by a 2022 Mercedes-Benz AMG SL63 Convertible sold for $253,000, and the runner-up was a 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon with just 1,055 miles on its clock that brought $167,750. A 2022 Ford Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition showing only 17 miles nabbed seat No. 3 with a $159,500 sale price, and a 2022 Ram TRX Sandblast Edition Pickup with a mere 167 miles brought $123,750.
Two 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor Editions also claimed places on Kansas City’s top sellers list, and top sellers from the classic realm of the collector car hobby included a rare 1953 Nash-Healey Le Mans Sport Roadster, a 1963 Lincoln Continental Convertible and AACA Senior Grand National winning 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible.

The main attraction Red C4/ZR1 Low-Mile Corvette Collection of 15 vehicles sold in its entirety for an aggregate $354,200, and the nine-car Stampede Collection also saw a 100% sell-through rate, bringing $236,500 overall.
