1905 Cadillac Model F Touring
(November 20, 2023) WALWORTH, Wis. — For the 30th consecutive year, Mecum Auctions will return to the Kansas City Convention Center to stage its annual gathering for automotive enthusiasts and the vehicles they crave. Mecum Kansas City 2023 will take place Nov. 30-Dec. 2 with an estimated 700 American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, trucks, exotics, Hot Rods, customs and more to be offered throughout the three-day event.
Among featured offerings is The John Hollansworth Sr. Collection, which includes a unique selection of 13 lots all to be offered at no reserve and comprising vehicles like a 1930 Ford Model A Coupe, a 1937 Ford Race Car, a 1958 Austin FX4 Taxi and a 1996 Diahatsu Midget II Pickup. An impressively diverse collection, it further includes lots from Chrysler, Morris Minor, Oldsmobile, Packard, Plymouth and Singer.
Jim Blin’s Cars of Yesteryear at Heartland Acres is another featured collection slated to grace the Kansas City stage, this one showcasing modernized mobility from the early 20th century as represented by a 1905 Cadillac Model F Touring, a 1912 Model T C Cab, a 1913 Sears Model K Runabout and a 1913 Velie Truck.
1970 Shelby GT500 convertible
The 16 vehicles in the collection will all be offered at no reserve and will also include midcentury models, such as a 1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible, a 1954 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster, a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible and a 1958 BMW Isetta 300.
Other featured lots to be offered in Kansas City include a one-owner 1970 Shelby GT500 Convertible with a matching-numbers original 428 CI Super Cobra Jet V-8 engine and Drag Pack option that is one-of-one produced as equipped per its Deluxe Marti Report. Contrasting in vintage but boasting overlapping origins and creative inspiration is a Supercharged 2022 Ford Shelby GT500H showing just 1,005 miles and standing as one of just 25 produced. From the modern Mopar scene is a 2023 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Swinger with a 6.4L Hemi engine, 6-speed transmission and just 20 miles on its odometer.
1958 Austin FX4 Taxi
The Road Art offerings headed to Mecum Kansas City 2023 are headlined by The Sullivan Collection, which consists of vintage gas pumps, neon signs, original porcelain and tin signs, and an array of unique car-themed pieces of furniture. For Kansas City Chiefs fans, the collection includes three sets of stadium seats manufactured by Hussey Seating Co.
Options for in-person, telephone and internet bidding start at $100, offering bidders the opportunity to get in on the auction action in whichever way suits them best. Standard bidder registration provides the bidder and a guest access to the auction for the three auction days.
