Rare 1930s Mathis Motorcar emerges from hiding in France

(July 23, 2016) A 1931 Mathis motorcar, which was hidden in France during World War II, will be offered for sale by Silverstone Auctions at the Silverstone Classic in the UK taking place July 29-31. The now rare and collectible Mathis PY 7CV has spent the last 72 years behind lock and key at a Chateau in Northern France, having been concealed from the invading German forces who stripped the area of valuable collectibles in the early 1940s.

Mecum's first collector car auction in Portland has sales of $9.3 million

(June 24, 2016) WALWORTH, Wis.— With 300 vehicles hammered sold on the auction block in just two days, Mecum’s inaugural Portland auction at the Portland Expo Center was a pronounced success. Held June 17 and and 18, the auction attracted vehicles from 17 states across the country and attendees from even more with total sales reaching more than $9.3 million.
