Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction hits $48 million in sales

(June 23, 2021) SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. —  Barrett-Jackson continues to fuel the hobby with another record-breaking live Las Vegas Auction, June 17-19, at the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Among the notable collector cars sold during the three-day auction were a 2015 McLaren P1, which sold for $1,567,500, and a 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster that brought in $1,045,000.

(June 20, 2021) WALWORTH, Wis. — Highly anticipated by customers and fans from the Midwest region, Mecum’s inaugural Tulsa collector car auction attracted crowds of enthusiasts to gather in attendance at River Spirit Expo at Expo Square in Tulsa, Okla., for the June 11-12 occasion. The auction ultimately continued the company’s streak of highly successful events and exceeded expectations with total overall sales cruising past $21.2 million. Of the 660 cars to cross the auction block in Tulsa, 539 hammered sold for an impressive sell-through rate of nearly 82%.

(June 6, 2021) WALWORTH, Wis. — Mecum Auctions has announced today that headline consignments are rolling in for the company’s return to the Del Monte Golf Course at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa in Monterey, Calif., this Aug. 12-14. An estimated 600 classic and collector vehicles are expected to cross the auction block along with approximately 100 vintage and antique motorcycles.

(June 2, 2021) I’ve always had a soft spot for automotive junkyards. And yes, I know I’m not supposed to call them that, but I use the word with great respect and fondness. I never met a junkyard I didn’t like; in fact, I even worked in one for a short time. But that’s another story. When my family moved to Northern California in the mid 1960s, I discovered all sorts of vintage junkyards in the area, each one chocked full of marvelous old cars. One of my favorites was Bunch’s, an archeological wonder on the outskirts of the little Central Valley town of Escalon.

(May 31, 2021) SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Barrett-Jackson will light up the Las Vegas Strip with a star-studded docket of No Reserve vehicles during the 2021 Las Vegas Auction, June 17-19 at the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). Among the most notable a 2015 McLaren P1  originally owned by electronic music producer and professional DJ Deadmau5. The original “10-second car,” a 1994 Toyota Supra that starred in two of “The Fast and the Furious” films, along with a 2003 West Coast Choppers (WCC) custom chopper owned by Pro American wrestler Bill Goldberg are also selling with No Reserve during this year’s Las Vegas Auction.

Among the No Reserve offerings will be a custom 1981 Mercedes-Benz 380SL roadster from Wayne Newton, as well as a pair of highly collectible cars from the estate of Siegfried & Roy: a 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing Coupe and a 1994 Rolls Royce Corniche.
