Mecum Auctions Gone Farmin' returns to Davenport June 17-20


1911 Case 30 horsepower steam traction engine

(June 3, 2020) WALWORTH, Wis. — The 2020 Gone Farmin’ Spring Classic auction will proceed as a live auction event at the Mississippi Valley Fair Center in Davenport, Iowa, June 17-20. A power-packed lineup of more than 500 vintage tractors, trucks, 2,000 signs and farm relics is set to cross the auction block.



Among the featured tractors consigned is a 1911 Case 30 HP Steam Traction Engine, one of an estimated 10 Case 30s in existence and perhaps the only one remaining in its original finish, now boasting a beautiful, authentic patina. A few other prominent tractor offerings include a 1921 Avery 25-50, a 1974 Oliver 2255 FWD and a 1963 John Deere 5010

Currently, there are 13 private tractor collections consigned, including 10 meticulously restored Massey-Harris tractors from the Steve Weeber Collection of Iowa City, Iowa, 16 Allis-Chalmers tractors from the Lehr Collection of Monticello, Wis.,, and 10 rare tractors from the European Tractor Collection of the Netherlands. In addition to tractors, more than 75 vintage trucks will be offered from the makes of Ford, Chevrolet, Studebaker, International, Dodge and more.



The safety of our customers, staff, suppliers—everyone involved in the auction—remains Gone Farmin’s top priority.

The auction block will be transformed and set up outdoors to provide a more open-air environment and allow for social distancing. In addition to bidding near the auction block, satellite bidding areas staffed with a bidder’s assistant will be available in the Fair Center and Iowa Building to allow for adequate social distancing among bidders in attendance. Several additional safety protocols will be implemented. Daily touch-free temperature checks will be required for all attendees and employees prior to entering the auction grounds.

Masks will be mandatory for all Mecum employees and highly encouraged for all attendees. Hand sanitizer stations will be conveniently located throughout the fairgrounds.



The auction is open to buyers, sellers and spectators. Auction lots will be available for inspection June 11-17 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.
