Manny, Moe, and Jack hit home run selling auto parts

From The Old Motor

(October 28, 2021) The first Pep Auto Supplies store was opened in Philadelphia, PA, by four friends in 1921. Meeting with success, that first store became a spring board for 40 other outlets in the Philly area. In 1923 the name was changed to “The Pep Boys – Manny, Moe, and Jack.”

In the 30s, the first store on the West Coast opened in California, which led to further expansion there. The top image taken on Aug. 19, 1940, contains a new store that opened in the Golden State.
